OSU Alumni Staff New Training and Engineering Facility for NTech's GreenSeeker Technology Commerical Rollout

Ukiah, Calif. - Farm Technology leader NTech Industries has established a dealer installation training and engineering facility in Stillwater, Oklahoma for its GreenSeeker variable rate fertilizer system, which was developed in cooperation with Oklahoma State University (OSU).

Key staff located at the facility are Robert Mullen, Ph.D., an agronomist from OSU who helped develop GreenSeeker, OSU graduates Carly Washman, a sales and applications engineer, and Stewartt Reed, an applications and design engineer, and electrical engineer Kent Dieball, former vice president of MicroFirm, Inc., who was also a member of the GreenSeeker development team at OSU.

NTech Industries President John Mayfield says the Stillwater team will be instrumental in installing GreenSeeker systems and training customers in major U.S. wheat and cereal grain growing areas of the country.

The GreenSeeker uses a sophisticated optical sensor and microprocessor-driven spray system that analyzes plant needs and delivers the optimal amount of fertilizer, on a two-foot-square basis, in real time without GPS or field mapping. The OSU GreenSeeker development team won an innovation award last year from the U.S. Department of Agriculture for its "revolutionary" GreenSeeker technology.

"The GreenSeeker was used to top dress 10 fields, from 90 to 160 acres, including two co-op fields," said Kenneth Failes, agronomist for the 200-member Burlington Co-op in Burlington, Oklahoma. "We saw increased yields of four and nine bushels in our fields. That means a significant return in dollars to the farmer. I think there definitely is a place for GreenSeeker in wheat growing country."

NTech Industries, headquartered in Ukiah, California, is the world leader in optical sensors for agricultural research, precision fertilizer applications, and weed and pest control for military and civilian uses. NTech products represent break-through technology with important revenue generation and environmental benefits for farmers.
