Broadacre/Fallow Field Systems
Broadacre farmers use the WeedSeeker Automatic Spot Spray System to control weeds for fallow field spraying, no-till field spraying, pre-plant weed spraying and post-harvest weed control. Farmers have achieved up to 90% reduction in herbicide costs in some applications--a significant amount of money that stays on the farm.
Benefits
- Significant reduction in chemical use
- Economical no-till weed spraying
- Allows additional spray passes late in the season to kill weeds before they seed
- Economical application of high chemical rates to maximize weed kill
- Aids in reducing herbicide-resistant weeds
- Economical post-harvest control of bindweed
- Spray day or night
- Mounts on existing equipment
- Sprays only green plants, not bare soil
Farm Tested and Recommended
"WeedSeeker is being used in rescue mode right now. Broadcast spraying is too expensive. Weedseeker, which uses optical sensors and microprocessors to spot and kill weeds with incredible precision, is allowing us to get control of the situation, concentrating herbicides exactly where they are needed. We're saving money by cutting overall chemicals needed and reducing the need to reapply them."

"Since commissioning the WeedSeeker in August 2002, Merrilong has sprayed 10,156 acres with an average savings of 82.5% of chemical per acre compared with previous chemical use. Use of WeedSeeker for weed killing in fallow fields saved Merrilong $35,584 (USD) in reduced glyphosate (herbicide) in the first season."
