GreenSeeker adds new crop prescriptions, enhanced software capabilities
(Ukiah, CA, April 9, 2009) NTech Industries Inc., manufacturer of the patented GreenSeeker® technology, has released the newest version of RT Commander software for its multi-sensor RT200 variable-rate application and crop vigor mapping system. It also has released RT Commander Pro, which adds new capabilities to the GreenSeeker system.
RT Commander Version 1.3.8, which is a free update via website download for GreenSeeker owners, includes updated prescriptions for corn and wheat from Virginia Tech and Kansas State University. A new cotton nitrogen algorithm (formula) is included from the University of Missouri.
The update also includes new durum wheat, malting barley and oats formulas from Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada. A new prescription for sorghum developed by Kansas State University also has been added.
The new GreenSeeker RT Commander Pro software upgrade allows historic field information and real-time data to be combined to optimize the prescription rate for any predetermined field area. Management zone maps delineated from historic field knowledge are imported into the RT Commander Pro software as a background map to enhance, restrict or even override the real-time GreenSeeker rate recommendations. Commander Pro is available for $2,000.
GreenSeeker technology utilizes applicator-mounted optical sensors that emit and analyze reflected light to determine crop vigor. Sensor readings can be geo-referenced to create vigor maps (NDVI) or may be used to variable-rate apply any input in real time. GreenSeeker systems are distributed internationally through authorized NTech Industries dealers.
