NTech Industries Partners with Farm Works Software to Deliver Powerful Crop Monitoring and Mapping Tool

Ukiah, Calif. - A powerful crop mapping and monitoring tool has emerged from a new partnership between global farm software leader Farm Works Software and NTech Industries, the world leader in optical sensors for agricultural research, precision fertilizer applications, and weed and pest control.

By packaging Farm Works' Site Mate software with NTech's GreenSeeker Hand Held plant analysis tool, farmers, crop consultants, and researchers can map crop health and vigor data collected by the GreenSeeker Hand Held sensor.

"GreenSeeker data can be used to quantify basic nutrient response, crop condition, yield potential, stress, and pest impact," explained NTech President John Mayfield. "Site Mate provides for automatic global position satellite (GPS) referencing of our Hand Held sensor data. This will allow creation of maps showing crop health and vigor so the user can immediately act on the information to improve the crop yield. Previously this type of information was only available utilizing expensive satellite data which was often several weeks old and subject to atmospheric interference."

"We think this is a good fit that builds on each company's strengths," said Scott Nusbaum, Vice President of Farm Works Software of Hamilton, Indiana. Farm Works has over 18,000 farm users worldwide with software translated into twelve languages.

About GreenSeeker
The 13-pound unit, with shoulder carrying strap, utilizes the new HP/Compaq iPAQ PDA (personal digital assistant) to collect information. With the pull of a "trigger", NTech's second-generation optical sensors are activated and data is captured to a compact flash card in the iPAQ. The microprocessor circuit board in the GreenSeeker sensor analyzes the light reflected from the plant and provides NDVI readings utilizing red and near infrared light.
